The Brief
Gold Coast Health (GCHHS) engaged FARA to deliver a high-end fitout for their Head to Health Kids facility, located on the ground floor of the Prana Centre in Nerang. The vision was to create a welcoming, functional space that could support mental health services for children and families, while reflecting the quality and care GCHHS is known for.
The design, led by Archipelago, called for a sophisticated and calming environment, featuring a stunning reception area, open-plan office space, breakout zones, consult and treatment rooms, and a spacious boardroom. With custom joinery and LED-lit Autex panelling, the aesthetic was both modern and inviting.
This was the fourth project FARA delivered for GCHHS, continuing a trusted partnership built on collaboration and shared values.
Our contribution
Our team worked closely with GCHHS and the design consultants to ensure the project met both functional and aesthetic goals, while remaining within budget and on schedule.
Throughout the project, we provided proactive solutions to navigate several challenges, including delays in mechanical design, water ingress through the existing external wall, and structural cracking in the slab above. By re-sequencing works and maintaining open communication with GCHHS, we ensured the project progressed with only minor delays – and was ultimately delivered on time.
Despite multiple design changes and variations, out team maintained control of the program and budget, delivering strong value for money and a seamless experience for the client.

The Head to Health Kids Fitout was successfully delivered on time and within budget, providing GCHHS with a purpose-built facility that supports their important work in child mental health. The final result is a beautifully designed, highly functional space that reflects the care and professionalism of the GCHHS team.
