We were engaged to deliver the full refurbishment of Levels 5 and 6 at QUT’s Kelvin Grove X Block, transforming them into premier office spaces designed to inspire collaboration and innovation. This project, envisioned by Wilson Architects, required a comprehensive upgrade of over 180 workstations, meeting rooms and communal areas across two floors to meet the evolving needs of a modern tertiary education environment.
With the finance team occupying Level 5 throughout construction, we had to ensure seamless business-as-usual operations while executing a full architectural refurbishment, mechanical and AV/IT modernisation and extensive service upgrades.
To achieve QUT’s vision, we worked closely with Wilson Architects, Blaklash and Gripfast Consulting to integrate contemporary design elements and sustainable materials while maintaining the highest construction standards. Collaboration was at the heart of our approach, ensuring every aspect of the project aligned with QUT’s operational needs and long-term goals.
Through meticulous planning and execution, we carefully coordinated service upgrades, managed logistics, and maintained clear communication with all stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition into the newly refurbished spaces. Our team also facilitated the installation of custom-printed First Nations designs on Autex Acoustics Australia’s panels, creating a unique and culturally enriched workplace that enhances both function and aesthetic.
Delivered on time and ready for the 2025 academic year, the refurbished X Block Levels 5 and 6 now provide QUT with a dynamic, modern workplace that supports both staff and students. This high-quality transformation reflects QUT’s commitment to excellence and innovation in tertiary education environments. We are proud to have partnered with QUT on this milestone project, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact of these remarkable new spaces.
