The Brief

Redlands College aimed to transform an underutilised courtyard space in its U-shaped E Block into a functional and versatile internal area. The goal was to enclose the courtyard by constructing a new roof, refurbishing existing classrooms across two floors, and creating a modern, air-conditioned learning environment. This required both refurbishing the existing building and constructing new elements, while ensuring minimal disruption as the project took place in a live school environment. Timely delivery and budget control were essential, as was ensuring the safety of students and staff throughout the construction process.

Our contribution

We were engaged under a lump sum contract to provide buildability expertise, helping develop a strategy to meet Redlands College’s needs while maintaining cost and program certainty. Our team constructed a full new structure, including a new roof and flooring, and oversaw the refurbishment of all classrooms over two floors. The previously unused courtyard was transformed into a spacious, air-conditioned internal area, providing a modern learning environment that better serves the needs of the students. Our team worked closely with the college to ensure minimal disruption during the school term, with safety and efficiency as our top priorities.

The remarkable project outcome

Our team successfully delivered Redlands College’s vision, completing the refurbishment of E Block on time and on budget. The project exceeded the college’s expectations, providing a valuable and modern space that enhances the educational experience for students and faculty alike.
