St. Margaret’s Anglican Girls School envisioned transforming their courtyard into a beautiful, functional space that would set the standard for their wider campus development plans. The Forest project aimed to blend practicality with natural beauty, incorporating landscaping, structural works, and the preservation of a historic stone feature wall. Working in a live school environment required a partner who could manage every phase with precision to provide program and budget certainty, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience for the school.
We were engaged to deliver a comprehensive courtyard transformation, installing custom sculptural elements, metal seating, structural pergolas, and inverted umbrellas to create a vibrant, sustainable space. Given the live school environment, our team closely coordinated with the school to maintain safety and minimise disruptions. Limited access and complex drainage requirements presented unique challenges, but our team proactively managed these to keep the project on schedule. Regular collaboration with the school allowed us to deliver a space that not only met but exceeded expectations.
The Forest at St. Margaret’s Anglican Girls School is a successful fusion of landscape design and civil engineering, with green garden beds lining curved pathways that connect seamlessly to the broader school grounds. Ample seating invites students to enjoy the space, and as climbing vines mature, the courtyard will continue to grow in beauty and character. The school is thrilled with the outcome, and we look forward to carrying this vision forward with The Canopy project, further enhancing the campus experience.
