The Brief

Duchesne College identified ongoing drainage issues within the Jubilee Wing’s ensuite bathrooms, requiring investigation and remediation. Resolving these issues within each room was found to be prohibitively expensive and highly disruptive.

The brief evolved to deliver a more practical solution that improved functionality, student comfort and community connection. This included rethinking bedroom layouts, upgrading shared amenities, and introducing new communal spaces and a southern entry.

Our contribution

Working closely with Duchesne College and the consultant team, we helped develop a cost-effective, buildable solution.

Ensuites were decommissioned and repurposed as walk-in robes, significantly improving in-room storage while avoiding complex hydraulic upgrades. In parallel, we delivered new shared bathroom facilities with modern, accessible amenities.

Bedrooms were refreshed with new beds, built-in desks, improved storage and contemporary lighting. A new southern entry and common room were also delivered, enhancing accessibility and encouraging student interaction.

The remarkable project outcome

The refurbishment has transformed the Jubilee Wing into a functional, student-focused environment. The solution not only resolved the drainage issues but provided more practical and appealing living spaces.

Students now benefit from upgraded bedrooms, generous storage, high-quality shared amenities and improved communal areas. The new entry and common room strengthen connection and campus experience.

Delivered through strong collaboration, the project is a practical, high-impact outcome that supports student wellbeing now and into the future.
